Single-Sided vs Double-Sided

• Single-sided — printed on one layer of knitted polyester with 80-90% show-through on the reverse. The most popular and cost-effective option for most outdoor applications.
• Double-sided — two knitted polyester flags with a blockout membrane sandwiched between them, all stitched together as one unit. Provides a fully opaque, mirror-image design on both sides. Note: flag bases are not covered by warranty when used with double-sided flags due to the additional weight.

Front-Facing Orientation

As standard, single-sided flag templates are set up with the front face of the design and the base and pole on the left-hand side. If you prefer the pole on the right-hand side, supply your artwork with the template shapes flipped horizontally — do not flip the flag design itself, only the template shapes.

Care and Maintenance

• Machine washable at 30°C without detergent — allow to dry completely before storing
• Dismantle during adverse weather and winds exceeding Beaufort scale 4 (13-18mph)
• Heavy rain combined with high winds increases flag weight and strain on the pole
• Avoid positioning where the flag may catch or snag on its pole or surrounding objects
• Air pollution will cause white areas to grey over time — UV exposure can cause gradual fading
• Realistic maximum lifespan for a regularly used flag is approximately six months

Teardrop flags have a curved, teardrop-shaped graphic that sits taut against the pole for a clean, structured look in all conditions. Teardrop flags are rated to Beaufort scale 4 — winds of 13-18mph. Dismantle your flag during adverse weather or winds exceeding this rating. Heavy rain combined with high winds increases the weight of the flag and puts additional strain on the pole, so always err on the side of caution in changeable weather.

Single-sided flags are printed on one layer of knitted polyester — your design shows through at 80-90% on the reverse, meaning it is visible but slightly faded. Double-sided flags have a blockout membrane between two printed layers, giving a fully opaque, vibrant design on both sides. Double-sided is ideal for locations where the flag will be viewed equally from both directions. Note that flag bases are not covered by warranty with double-sided flags due to the added weight.

Options include ground spike for grass, parasol base for hard surfaces, cross base for indoor use and water-fillable bases for added stability. The realistic maximum lifespan for a regularly used flag is approximately six months — this varies depending on climatic conditions and hours of use. UV exposure causes gradual fading and air pollution will grey white areas over time. To extend the life of your flag, store it correctly when not in use, wash at 30°C without detergent and always dismantle in adverse weather.
